PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Kruse’s physical education staff is committed to excellence and the development of each individual by creating an atmosphere of fun, focus and friendship

MUSIC

Students develop their musical abilities in an academic setting, and at the same time expand their social and independent living skills.

HORTICULTURE

Experiences and opportunities include small product assembly, horticulture in the Greenhouse and garden, and recycling.

GRAPHIC ARTS

This program provides students with interactive experiences in technology, science and engineering.

DANCE

The program consists of dance, acting, fitness, performance and other dance related studies.

MEDIA PRODUCTION

Beginning video production, with students producing weekly video announcements broadcast school-wide, school season highlights and more.

Behavioral/Academic Components:

STUDENT SERVICES PROGRAM

Our Multidisciplinary team consists of school-based school psychologists, a clinical psychologist, clinical social workers, a counselor, art therapist, and a career specialist. Services provided include: case management, individual, group, and family support services. Psychiatric consultation, medication management and additional therapeutic services are provided through a contract with Children’s Psychiatric Center.

BEHAVOR MANAGEMENT

A school-wide highly structured, five level system based on 100 points per day is utilized. Individualization is addressed through functional assessments of behavior and the development of behavioral intervention plans. Positive behavior approaches are used. The student’s social, emotional and behavioral needs are addressed in their IEP goals and objectives.

ROPES

Adventure-based counseling experiences are provided to students by trained staff at the on-site ropes course.

PROJECT VICTORY

The Project Victory program supports the education of students with disabilities. Students are assigned to departments to learn skills to enhance their ability to obtain employment.

CBI & CB-VE

CBI: To provide our students with learning experiences in real life situations in everyday settings.
CB-VE: To provide our students with experience in various job sites so that they may acquire technical skills.
